Erawan Waterfall
…Situated in Erawan National Park is 65 km. from town along Highway No.3199. The park, covering 550 square km., is the site of the 7-tiered Erawan Waterfall, one of Thailand’s loveliest waterfalls. The second tier has a pool, which is ideal for swimming and is particularly picturesque. However, the most popular activity in the park is trekking. Bungalow and camping facilities and a daytime food market are available. Visitors can reach the waterfall by own vehicle or take a bus from Kanchanaburi Bus Station (look at bus timetable on page no.2)
Sri Nakharin Dam
…The great hydro-electricpower plant,situated on Kwae Yai River, 70 km. from Kanchanaburi, and just 5 km. north of the Erawan Waterfall. In an area of the dam, tourist can look around the “Sundial Garden” and there are bungalow, golf course, cruising boat, restaurant for service. Beyond the dam is a beautiful lake surrounded with lush forests. Many raft house, resort and boat for relaxing, fishing.
Phra That Cave
…This relatively large mountain cave with stunning stalactites and stalagmites, shape looks like coral, some stone is translucent. It’s located in an area of Erawan National Park, away from Kanchanaburi approx 75 km. and 8 km. beyond the Erawan Waterfall. The cave is 20 m. long and can be explored within 1 hour. Visitors can contact the forestry staff before go up to the cave for guide services.
Huai Maekhamin Waterfall
…A major attraction in Sri Nakarin National Park is this beautiful 7-tiered waterfall, which is conveniently accessible by foot via a trial near the park’s headquarters. Trekking through forests and bamboo groves offers unrivaled opportunities to admire a rich variety of butterflies and bird species. Bungalows are available (book in advance 034-511167); however, visitors are advised to bring their own food as there are food outlets available. It’s 108 km. from town.
Chalerm Rattana Kosin National Park (Than Lod Cave)
…97 kilometers away from town by Highway No.3086, pass Bo Ploi and Nong Prue District. There are beautiful caves and waterfalls; Than Lod Noi Cave, Than Lod Yai Cave, which are accessible through a 2.5 kilometers nature trail along the stream, via Tri Trueng Waterfall and also natural trail to Than Ngoen Waterfall and Than Thong Waterfall. Bungalow and camping are available.
